The next MScOT fieldwork session will begin on either January 4 or 11, 2016.

Our thanks to all of you who have arranged to supervise our students!

The University of Alberta will be closed from Dec 25 - Jan 3, 2015. Our fieldwork team will be back at work on January 4 and ready to support you and our students throughout the upcoming Level 2/Year 2 placement.

FREE Online Preceptor Modules

Registration for the UofA FRM CSCE Clinical Educator Workshop on December 8th is now closed. Our apologies if you missed out on this professional development opportunity! More CSCE workshops will be scheduled in 2016.

Please connect with one of our fieldwork team members near you to get any information you are needing about supervision for upcoming placements. We are happy to arrange site visits or set up 1:1 meetings, whenever needed, to support you to keep supporting us!

CSCE Clinical Educator Workshop - Dec 8

The UofA Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine Collaborative for Scholarship in Clinical Education (CSCE) is offering the following Clinical Educator Workshop on December 8, 2015 from 0830-1200:

Introduction to Student Supervision
(includes discipline-specific breakout sessions to discuss curriculum, student evaluation process, etc)

The workshop will be held in Edmonton and will be broadcast to Calgary.

Edmonton Address: Room 2-07 Corbett Hall, University of Alberta - Main Campus
Calgary Address: Room 3-26 University of Alberta FRM - Calgary Campus, 906 - 8 Avenue SW
(located at UofC Downtown Campus)

Tele-health access could also be arranged for rural Alberta sites. Please note this when registering.

Registration is free for OTs, PTs and SLPs who have or will be supervising a student.

Professional development attendance certificates will be issued.

A light breakfast will be served in Edmonton and Calgary beginning at 0800.

Our hope is to use this blog as another, readily accessible, tool for communication with our OT community in Alberta, Saskatchewan and beyond. A place where we can share resources, tips for student supervision, preceptor educational opportunities, celebrate some of your fieldwork contributions, and much more ...

Starting in January 2016, when our Year 2 students are 'in the field' completing their Level 2 placements, we will create a weekly blog post to keep you engaged and informed throughout the placement session.
